Hi! Yesterday in Lawrence we had more time than we knew what to do with! The drive was approximately 1/16 of our average haul this tour so we kicked it around town.
First, coffee and internetz followed by some lunch at La Parilla, a tasty Latin American joint recommended by ex-Lawrencian Megan M. And it was delicious! Try the Brazilian Lemonade, which is great, though made with limes not lemons. This has also led me to question the true Brazilian-ness of the beverage.
We arrived at The Record Bar in Kansas City to find buddy/tourmate/audio wizard Dave behind the boards. He ran both bands’ sound during the Starlight Mints tour and is just a badass dude in general.
We did some reminiscing about the Mints tour and I was reminded of prank war (read: skirmish) that got started. Sadly, I was not keeping the tour blog, so maybe I’ll dedicate a post to some of those hijinx.
We ended up taking the stage a bit late and blazed through most of our set before heading back to Dave’s. He promised to guide us to KC BBQ today!
