Yesterday was an off day where we traveled from Denver across Kansas to Lawrence. Quite a contrast to the mountainous drives of the previous days.
When we finally arrived in Lawrence, we met up with Alisha who was putting us up for the night, and with nothing to do on the off day, I wandered over to the Jackpot Saloon to see who was playing.
And it turned out to be Oakland’s WHY?, a really terrific band that I had been listening to since last summer. Our Euro tour manager, Andre, introduced me to their music as he had just been out with them right before picking up with us.
I was happy to hear that they had equally high regard for Andre and were empathetic towards a fellow road dog. Some of them had also seen us with Serena Maneesh on our US tour a couple years ago and found we had some mutual friends there. Got some pictures as well!
